A Woman’s World
Riding the wave of time,
I want to create value for myself.
Little by little and step by step,
I’m striving to find my niche.
I am eager to get in line,
Carving out my path with
patience and resilience.
There is still a long way
to go for this purpose.
With countless unsaid duties
So many unfulfilled promises
And many beautiful dreams
Though I have my ways
To live my life, I still hide
My wishes up my sleeves
With my eyes on a perfect future
I want to have a say
In any decision-making
That involves me,
Especially for the next generation.
The sweet reality is that
I’m an integral part of the
Humanity wagon
And the bitter truth is
That, this wagon derailed
My journey so far.
Never tried out of way,
Never overboarded my desires
The tide may be positive or
Bright in many books,
The stories might be greener
For some folks,
The shadow of the pseudo
Wokes may be denser
But the ‘peek the real side’
The moment will tell you otherwise.
With a lot of titles hinging
On my shoulder and
A few taglines to undermine
My invaluable existence
Amidst all the diverse stories
With all the palpable gaslighting
I wonder how my foremothers
Survived the not-so-easy world.
I don’t want to whimper
Or complain about the
Mistreatment since long.
I don’t want to discuss the
Balance of duties and rights
However, I do want to share
My struggles to date- issues
That are deeply detrimental
For a common girl like me.
I am not woke, though
I am not a staunch feminist
I am not a victim
I am not helpless
I fully own myselfAnd, I don’t consider
Myself vulnerable.
I have a voice that is
Clear and bold
Yet the unfair societal norms
are taking a toll
on me.
That’s the situation in a nutshell.
I embrace my true self
in the vibrant tapestry
of an inclusive society.
I stand confidently as
a human being, embodying
the essence of connection,
acceptance, and shared humanity.
