A lovely little girl,
Just out of her mother’s womb
A tiny soul,
With half-open, half-closed eyelids,
Tiny pink lips like rose petals.
An angelic smile on the face,
That cute little girl with the pink face,
Raising her tiny palms,
With twinkling little eyes,
Looking at her mother
With so much anticipation
The two people of whom
That little girl was a part
They were in the gloom of deep despair.
The father could not hide
The lines of fret on his forehead.
On the other side,
Mother was down-hearted,
Was saying to herself
She wished she had a son.
Here that lovely girl waiting
For her parent’s embrace,
Understood their pain
With her birth
Poor, voiceless little soul,
What should she do now?
Who should she ask to know
Where does her fault lie?
Even God should have at least
Thought before breathing life into her.
Once again, that little girl
And her tiny eyes
Now, she seemed to be
Pleading for her life
And her hiccups stopped
Another innocent soul
Once again merged
With infinity, to be born
Again, in the lap of another mother.
With a new hope-
Hope for love, hope for life
Hope for her safety,
Hope for her dignity,
Hope for everything
That she deserves.
