Heads Of State: An Amazon Prime Release

Heads Of State: Movie Review

An Amazon Prime release

Do you want to ketchup on an action movie with a touch of comedy while showing some real threat to the real world?

Here is an action movie with perfect comic role played by John Cena and Idris Alba with Priyanka Chopra Jonas in a pivotal role to save both of the mighty looking heroes.

For Priyanka Chopra Only

The film ‘Heads of State’ has already been released on Amazon Prime Video on July 2, 2025.

Although I am not a big fan of the Indian superstar Priyanka Chopra, I still admire her for her persistent efforts and genuine consistency. Despite facing significant challenges in her Bollywood career that nearly derailed her success, she has continued to persevere.

That’s why I waited for her recent release, ‘Heads Of State,’ to at least judge her performance as an Indian audience member. I watched the movie with minimal affection and high expectations.

You can take Indians anywhere in the world to live in, they will adjust and adopt their culture wholeheartedly, but still you can’t take away Indianness from them, they will still be Indian with their subtle actions. Priyanka Chopra in a Hollywood movie looks as Indian as she indeed is.

Plot: So Predictable

With so many different genre movies portraying criminals overpowering the world, this one is touted as a comedy one, I honestly disagree with this.

  • Nuke threat is real issue.
  • Hunger for power is real issue.
  • Conspiracy against allied nations is always here ( you will never know what is under-wrap until you find everything threatening to your country).
  • It doesn’t matter whether you are the heads of state of two mighty nations; you are still vulnerable.
  • Those who possess nuclear weapons illegally can go to any lengths to dethrone normal governments.
  • We have made significant technological advancements, yet we continue to act foolishly, directly causing a decline in the quality of life across the globe. It’s time to take responsibility for our actions.
  • When you are out of radar for the slightest moment, it doesn’t matter whether you are head of a mighty state or a normal person; there are people too eager to catch the opportunity to grab the space vacated by your sudden disappearance.

  • 3.5/5
  • Two snack break

Spoiler: Hold my table

With two heads of two mighty states at loggerheads over trivial things, the world around them can be murkier and under attack from the people. They just dislike peace and humanity around them, they just look for a world which is depriving, devastating, decaying, and dementing with no one asking any question, no one to be accountable for the declining of all the humanitarian indexes.

Detailed Analysis

  • uncheckedStory and Screenplay: This movie is clearly predictable if you are quite aware of the third world comprising of criminals and war-mongers with an eye on the nuclear weapons.
  • uncheckedPerformances: Though performances of the stars like John Cena, Idris Alba, Priyanka Chopra is strong enough to keep you hooked to it, there are so many points where comic timings of the stars are too good to ignore.
  • uncheckedDirection and Vision: The director has succeeded in keeping the film interesting till the end. However, there are some moments when you feel that there is too much drama in the movie.
  • uncheckedCinematography and Visuals: It is just on the mark, if I want to be honest to write it as a normal movie-watcher.
  • uncheckedPlot: When the world is in dire need for an effective organisation meant for a better tomorrow, the question on the existing organisations’ relevance is righteously shown in this movie.
  • uncheckedMusic and Background Scores:  I dare to say that there is a understandable influence of having a Bollywood actor like Priyanka Chopra on the podium as the movie has some cool and soothing songs along with some equated background music that adds elements in its sound delivery.
  • uncheckedPacing and Editing: The movie’s pacing is generally strong, except for a scene on the plane where the two super-powered heads of state find themselves in trouble as miscreants breach their advanced security protocols.
  • uncheckedThemes and Messages: The message is powerful and understandable, inventing for a better tomorrow is more likely to be misused than to benefit humanity.
  • uncheckedMy Personal Opinion: I like the movie, though I admit that I watched it for Priyanka only. But now, I am a fan of Idris Alba and John Cena as well, and will surely catch up their other movies next time.
  • uncheckedChemistry: The trio, Priyanka, John Cena, and Idris Alba, are perfectly cast for their respective roles. But the love chemistry between Idris and Alba lacked intensity.

FINAL: Why would I watch this movie again?

If it is not for our very own Priyanka Chopra, I would like to watch this movie once again to encapsulate the possible threats to the humanity because of some of our technological inventions which are still not used by the miscreants and terrorists, it is indded a miracle for the humanity itself keeping a view on recent war situations in the world.

As humans, we must introspect our actions and reactions as we are more vulnerable than we can even think of because of what we invented for betterment of our lives.

This vulnerability arises from the very technologies and conveniences we have created to improve our lives. While these innovations contribute to our comfort and efficiency, they can also lead to unintended consequences that impact our mental, emotional, and social well-being. By engaging in thoughtful introspection, we can better understand how our reliance on these advancements shapes our behavior and relationships, enabling us to navigate the complexities of modern life with greater awareness and intention.

Call To Action:

Honestly, I have to say that when I don’t like a movie, I never go beyond a few minutes of the start.

I hate a movie with a bad ending or a movie where negative elements come out unscathed.

  • Watch the film at least for the message that our world needs more humane measures instead of inventing more and more technological marvels; otherwise, days will come when those with power and deadly nuclear weapons together will destroy this habitable planet.
